We thought Louboutin shoes simply couldn’t get any sexier, but how wrong were we? Christian Louboutin has become the first guest creator at iconic Parisian cabaret club Le Crazy Horse.
“Crazy Horse is an iconic Paris monument, a monument to dance, a fantastic, modern idea of the celebration of women for women,” Louboutin said.
Louboutin has created four tableaux in a show called Feu, which “constitute a personal look at femininity in all its forms”. Assisted by Patricia Folly, choreographer and dancer at Le Crazy, he also collaborated with a diverse team of distinguished artists – including David Lynch and Swizz Beatz, who both composed original music; Gilles Papain, video designer; and Youssef Nabil, who created the poster for the show. Feu will preview on Sunday, March 4 and will remain in the repertoire of the dancers until May 31.
“I am interested in all things that celebrate and enhance the female form,” Louboutin said. “Because of what I do, for these numbers I have focused on the lower half of the body, rather than the top. The language of legs can express any and every feeling, and without giving too much away, the body becomes the Flame.”
“Christian Louboutin and Crazy Horse Paris are symbols of Parisian life whose worlds know no borders; symbols of the world of creativity, wonder and modernity,” Andrée Deissenberg, managing director of Crazy Horse Paris Group, said. ”They share the same sources of inspiration – women, of course, but also the world around them – and both are exceptionally skilled at producing unique and surprising creations. This is why Christian Louboutin was the natural choice as our first guest creator.”
